Passante, I agree that adding the article would be a great help to the beginner.

In addition, sono curioso: in the section using the vocabulary in sentences, do you use the most common way native speakers would say or write the sentences? If so, thanks, because there is no way that I would have known to say,"Mi serve un quaderno nuovo" for I need a new notebook." Or to use the infinitive form of "scrivere" to mean "writing". Thanks for teaching the "real Italian." If we can stay with it long enough, we just might learn something we can actually use and not sound like a fool.

Why isn't the vocabulary taught with the article? How is a beginner supposed to know that he or she should say "lo studente" and not "il studente"? And how does the beginner know that in the case of this picture it was actually "la studentessa"?
