Let's look at the dialogue.
Imagine a shared laundry room in an apartment building. A young man is trying to put his clothes in the washing machine before he is stopped by his neighbor.
A: Scusa!
A: Excuse me!
B: Sì?
B: Yes?
Next, the neighbor points to a sign that the laundry machine is out of order. The young man thanks his neighbor.
B: Ah! Grazie!
B: Ah! Thank you!
A: Di niente.
A: You're welcome.
Last, as the young man closes the washing machine, it makes a loud noise. He apologizes for that.
B: Ops! Scusa!
B: Oops! I'm sorry!
A: Figurati!
A: Don't mention it!
Ok, let's see a few more scenarios.
For example, imagine you're at a restaurant but you notice you don't have a fork. Get the waiter's attention and ask for a fork. The waiter is a young man. What word would you use?
Scusa! Una forchetta, per favore.
Excuse me, a fork, please.
Next, imagine that you've arrived late for an appointment with an Italian client due to heavy traffic.
What would you say?
Scusi, ma c'era traffico.
I'm sorry but there was traffic.
Lastly, imagine that a friend offers to share some chocolate with you. You love chocolate. What would you say?
Grazie, amo il cioccolato!
