Ciao Angela S,

"girare per la cittร " means "to wander around in the city".

As you said, "per" has a function. It means "around" or "from one side to the other" when used with verbs that express action.

Another example would be: Abbiamo passeggiato per il parco = We took a stroll around the park / We walked through the park.

Hope this helps!

"Ieri ho girato per la cittร ." is defined as "Yesterday I went around the city".

Does this mean "I went around ... as in, "I bypassed by circling around instead of entering" ... or does it mean "I wandered around in the city" ?

Is the word "per" a clue to the meaning in this sentence?

Grazie!

Ofelia,

Mi scusi,

credo che il nostro collega ha commentato la pronuncia italiana della parola inglese "categoria".

A 6:36 e 6:40 della lezione audio, Cinzia ha detto due volte

cat "tah" gor y in luogo della pronuncia commune cat "e" gor y.

Ciao

Hi Ray Moran,

We have checked, but couldn't find the mistake. Could you kindly indicate to which part of the audio are you referring to?

Thank you,

Ofelia

I appreciate your teaching the condizionale early in the lesson sequence. Because of that, it makes it easier, and feels more natural, to slip these congutions into the language that we have already learned.

Hi Edmar,

Just "per riposarsi" is enough.

The rest of the sentence is correct!

a presto,

Grazie. Il mio frase originale era piu' lungo. But I ran out of vocabulary. Deve essere...

Consiglierei di stare dentro il centro commerciale per noi riposarsi(for us to relax)

Hi Edmar,

Your sentence is quite good. :)

The word mall though is not used in Italian. You can translate it as centro commerciale.

Consiglierei di stare dentro il centro commerciale.

A presto
