two basic questions

Postby haasrj_81459 » April 15th, 2018 8:20 pm

1. What's the best way to say please?
Per favore or per piacere?

Your lessons never seem to mention the last one, but when I learned Italian years ago, they were both used.

2. I'd never really heard "salve" before used as "hello". When is it appropriate to use that vs buon giorno, ciao etc?

Thanks.
Robert

Hi Robert,

1. We can use both. Choose the one that you prefer
2. "Salve" can be used at any hour and in any situation, both formal or casual.

Thank you,
Ofelia
