I'm new

Postby azzozhsn » January 3rd, 2009 11:55 am

Ciao
I'm new here, and I have a question about lesson 2. How could I say:
I study computer science
also how could I say:
I’m programmer (as a job)

One more question, how could I say my name in Italy?

Grazie

15 days and no replay, I won't subscribe then, I'm gonna stick with japanesepod101.com only, they are the best.

I am sorry for the late reply.
Italianpod101 is a rather small team compared to japanesepod101

You can say "Studio informatica"
"Sono un programmatore" or "Faccio il programmatore"

Regarding your name, if it is the same as your user name then we wouldn't translate it as there is no Italian equivalent.

Buona giornata

Marco

Dear Azzoz,
I believe there is no translation for your name in Italian.

Sorry
Marco

I appreciate the work that you and Cinzia do--grazie mille. I tried out other Italian podcasts, but they were either too easy or too irritating; yours is by far the best around. Please continue to develop Italianpod101!

Just a newbie browsing around, but this is fairly important, though it's buried under another topic. My name is "John". My name is John in America, it's John in Italy and it's John in China. You don't translate names, ever, though I guess Azzoz is just curious in this case. Marco's name doesn't become "Mark" when he's in America, he's Marco everywhere he goes, all the time, unless he chooses to change it. Common misconception, that I become "Juan" when I cross the Mexican border, but I don't. My name is John.
