Learn Italian with ItalianPod101.com! You’re sitting at the bar in an Italian restaurant with your friend waiting for a table. Suddenly, your friend excuses herself to visit the ladies’ room. Feeling a presence to your left, you turn and notice that a dashing stranger, who you presume is Italian, has taken the seat beside you. He smiles and says in Italian, “Are you from around here?” Even though he’s using the oldest pick-up line in the book, you decide to play along and have some fun while you’re in Italy. You respond in Italian, “No, I’m actually American. How about you?” His smile gets even larger and he says in Italian, “I’m American too, and I’d recognize your accent anywhere. You’re from the south, aren’t you?” You respond in Italian, “Yes, I am.” Seeing that your girlfriend has returned, you introduce her in Italian to your new acquaintance. You also tell him in Italian, “She was my roommate in college, and she’s from America but her parents are French and Italian, so we are visiting them.” He nods in greeting and says in Italian, “Since we’re all from America, why are we still speaking Italian?”

Ciao Snowy,
“Sono cinese” is perfect, but you should say “ma vengo dall’Inghilterra”. I’m Chinese but I come from England. Am I right?

Anyway good job, please continue practicing!!

You sent me a Getting Started with Italian disk which does not work. The second disk “Secrets & tips” works, but it is not remotely useful or interesting. I want either a refund of $9.99 or a working replacement disk. Under no circumstances do I want to get charged for your service. - a very unhappy customer.

Mismatches between audio/podcasts and lesson notes….

Some things are in the audios that are not in the notes (such as the origin of “ciao”, which I would like to see written), and some things are in the notes that are not in the audio, such as the “Vocabulary Sample Sentences” sections.

Why? (The “Newbie Seasons” series do a much better job of matching the audio to the notes.)
