Hi everyone, I'm Felice. |
Ciao a tutti, sono Felice, |
welcome to the Italian Whiteboard Lessons. |
In this lesson you'll learn how to use the preposition DI as a modifier. |
Let's get started! |
Il suo numero di telefono, per favore. |
First we have the possessive adjective IL SUO, meaning your, formal Italian. |
Then we have a noun NUMERO, meaning number. |
Then we have the preposition DI, meaning of. |
Then we have another noun TELEFONO, meaning phone. |
At the end we have these expressions |
PER FAVORE, meaning please. |
Il suo numero di telefono, per favore. |
Literally, your number of phone, please. |
But the meaning is your phone number, please. |
The preposition DI here is used to modify the noun right before it. |
In this sentence it shows that it's not just a generic number, |
it's a phone number, in Italian. |
