Very nicely addressed. Here in USA, local dialect also makes both vowels and consonants "interesting". This is a great language course; thank you for being there!! Grazie mille.

We apologize for the mistake (now it's corrected).

On the other hand this makes clear how much Italian native speakers are unaware of this specific difference. So much that in some regions the pronunciation can totally change, according to the regional accent.

Only in a few cases the meaning of a word changes according to the vowels' pronunciation. But even if a vowel is pronounced wrongly, you will always be able to understand the meaning from the context.

Please revisit the pdf "tip 1" where you suggest O chiusa (from amore) is like "bald" in English. I don't think so.... Grazie. Dec 2014
