Hi MarkR,

Thank you for your positive feedback! We really appreciate it!

As for Italian, "pompieri" and "vigili del fuoco" are almost synonyms, but the first one is colloquial.

Grazie e a presto!

OBTW (Oh, by the way). I really love this Italian program; it compels me to think word origins and subsequent use. The amount of both new and review material is perfect to give encouragement to go to the next lesson. Mar 2015 Mark

Interessante....Penso/credo que i vigilie del fuoco sono "fire-watchmen" (guardano a vedere si c'e' un ,fouco) ma i "pompiere" (pumpers) sono loro que estingano il fuoco. Sono sbagliato?? Grazie. Mark in Mar 2015 (Interesting...I think/believe that your choice of "firemen" is actually the old fashioned "fire watch man" who stayed up in dark hours looking for a fire (the fire vigil) and when he/they saw/found one, set the alarm to call/summon the firefighters or "pumpers". Thanks.
