First, let's look at some examples.

To ask where an object comes from, you can say...
Da dove viene...
followed by...
questo
or...
questa
and the noun.
To say where it comes from, use...
questo
or...
questa
followed by the noun, then...
viene da
plus the right determinative article and the place, like...
Questo vino viene dalla Toscana.
