Yes, "vada" is the imperative form for verb "andare". It is in the third person, that is needed in the formal/polite expressions. The same for "giri", which is not the second person of the present!
"(Lei) vada dritto"

means go straight,but why vada? is it imerative form for verb andare to go ?
