So do you have a pet? My family had a cat, a dog, a mouse, a snake and many birds. Oh and my sister always said I was a pet too! Ciao

Ciao Erni,

Frase perfetta! Perfect sentence!

There is just a little typo: chiamama => chiama

Ciao Ken,

yes it's correct! If the noun that follows the verb is plural, the verb is conjugated in the third person plural (they). If it is singular, the verb is conjugated in the third person singular (it).

So you can only say:

Vero?

Grazie in anticipo,

A question about "si passivante". If "Si vedono le montagne" needs the plural because "montains" is plural; would it be necessary to have a plural verb for the following sentence: "One (people) eat spaghetti"? Is it ever right (correct) to say or write "One can see the mountains"? Or perhaps, One eats two apples"?

The rule is: If one uses "si", one must use the plural if the noun after the verb is plural. True?

The first cat we had was a Persian cat, it was snow white like yours, Chinzia! The cat was very well trained and would lift its paws to say hello. We never had a cat like that again. Those were the days of my early years in Nairobi, Kenya.

Now everyone has pets and pet ownership seems boring!
