C'è un passato congiuntivo (deste) senza spiegazione? Perché? Grazie! Allan

Hi Angela,

thanks for your question. "Deste" is Imperfect Subjunctive. It is needed together with the conditional to form type 2 if-clauses. You can learn more about it here:

Hope that helps!

In "verremmo se ci deste un passaggio" ... for some reason I cannot figure out what form of 'dare' is "deste" ... what am I missing here?

Grazie!

Ciao a tutti! Vi raccomando di ascoltare la canzone "Se Avessi Un Cuore" di Annalisa per capire meglio il condizionale.

Hello,

It was mentioned in the lesson that there are three types of quizzes, content, vocabulary and grammar quiz. Where can I find those quizzes? I mean in which section of the site?

Yes, the main clause , the possible event/outcome, us:es the conditional tense.

But I did not see it explained that the" if" clause/ " se"/subordinate clause uses the verb in the subjunctive /congiuntivo. I think that would help, when we find these forms - "deste" - in the text.

Also the condition was introduced by "se" โ€“ "se ci deste un passaggio".and also a gerund "partendo" โ€“ " " Partendo subito, arriveremmo tra venti minuti".

Non ne ho caputo fino ho letto le note di nuovo.

I didn't understand this till I went back and read the notes.

Una lezione impegnativa!

A challenging lesson ! Grazie, Liz
