It is not uncommon for us to say in English "It is a pleasure to meet you," which does seem to literally be the translation of "E un piacere conoscerti."

Hi - i'm a little confused. Do we have "scripts" or written dialogues to follow as we listen?

Ciao Claire,

Thank you for posting!

We're glad to hear that you are enjoying the lessons!

As for typing Italian, please try to set up Italian as an option in the keyboard preferences of your device.

Otherwise, if you use Google Chrome, you can try to install the Google Input Tools and choose Italian.

I hope this helps!

Grazie,

Ciao a tutti! Sono Claire, una donna americana.

Hello, everyone! I am Claire, an American woman.

This is my second day at ItalianPod.com and I feel like I have already learned a great deal. I do have a question, however, that I hope someone can answer for me.

I don’t know how to enter letters with diacritical marks here and my answers to the Written Questions in the Lessons are always marked ‘Incorrect’ without them. Can anyone tell me, please, how to enter these special characters, e.g. “Di dov’è?” I tried the ‘Shortcut Keys’ for entering symbols on my PC using the Ctrl key but that doesn’t seem to work on this site. Short of typing in Word, then cutting and pasting (which I did for dov’è here), I don’t know how to accomplish this.

Can anyone help, please?

Grazie,

Claire
