Becky: Welcome to ItalianPod101.com. This is 3-Minute Italian Season 1, Lesson 8 - Talking about your age. In this lesson, you’ll learn how to ask someone's age and to say yours in Italian.

Becky: Here's the informal way to ask 'How old are you?' in Italian.
Ofelia: [Normal] Quanti anni hai?
Becky: First is a word meaning 'how many'
Ofelia: [Normal] quanti [Slow] quanti
Becky: Next is the word meaning 'years'
Ofelia: [Normal] anni [Slow] anni
Becky: Last is the word meaning 'you have'
Ofelia: [Normal] hai [Slow] hai
Becky: Note the rising intonation. Listen again to the informal question meaning 'How old are you?'
Ofelia: [Slow] Quanti anni hai? [Normal] Quanti anni hai?
Becky: Now, imagine you're speaking to someone you don’t know well. Here's the formal way to ask, 'How old are you?'
Ofelia: [Normal] Quanti anni ha?

Becky: Next is the word meaning 'years'
