HideHi Listeners, what would you like to order?
Hi Patricia,
It depends on the context.
If you are in a "bar" then "caffè" and "espresso" are synonyms, because they mostly only serve "espresso."
If you are somewhere else, for example at someone's home, then "caffè" indicates the coffee made with a moka pot and "espresso" indicates the coffee made with an espresso machine ?
I hope this helps!
Thank you,
Ofelia

- Would saying un espresso mean exactly the the same thing to an Italian as saying un caffe’.
Grazie
Ciao Kílvia,

Please be careful to the spelling for "espresso"!
A presto!
