Newbie v. Absolute Beginner

Postby thomas.bean_81109 » November 29th, 2014 2:04 am

For someone who is a complete beginner at learning Italian, is it recommended that one starts with the Newbie series rather than the Absolute Beginner series? And if so, would it be appropriate to work through both seasons of the Newbie series before starting the first season of the Absolute Beginner series?

I am assuming that one starts with the Newbie material, but my dashboard prompts are to the Absolute Beginner material.

Many thanks for any response.

Hi thomas.bean,

It’s a good question. They really are no different. We used to use the term “Newbie” for “Absolute Beginner” lessons. Then, for newer lessons, we started using "Absolute Beginner" instead.
I recommend you to check the curriculum first. You can have an overview on the series and decide which one is more interesting.

Here are the link to Absolute Beginner Season 1's curriculum

and Newbie Season 1's curriculum

Thank you, and let us know if you have any questions!
A presto!

Thanks Ofelia, much appreciated! Those overview sheets are very handy.

Best regards,
