Music

Postby Sonjajean » July 10th, 2008 11:20 am

Buon giorno,
Music is a powerful learning tool. I can 'feel' so much listening to the to 'music' of the Italian language. The tone and emotions.

Here is a video from one of my favorite Italian pop stars, Renato Zero.
It shows the words and I wanted to share it with other students. Hope this helps.

Ciao Sonja,
grazie per aver postato quel link!
Thank you for posting that link! Renato Zero is one of the best Italian singers... I think...
He's always been questioned... overall in tha past, but I've always appreciated his art, just because is unique, and I consider him a real good and clever singer... capable to change according the different generations and tendencies!

Grazie ancora!

Buon giorno Cinzia,
I am glad to know that you enjoy Renato Zero. His work never came to America. I feel like I found a beautiful Italian treasure. He is a great showman.
I also found some other Italian singers that I enjoy.
Andrea Bocelli and the late, great, big Luciano. They are popular in US.
I also like Laura Pausini, Zucchero and Eros Ramazzotti.
What is on your playlist Cinzia?
ciao,
SJ

uhm..
my playlist? well... I like different artists... among Italian groups, SUBSONICA, TIROMANCINO, BLUVERTIGO... they're pretty different from Renato Zero of course, they are much more electro-rock.
Have you ever listened to TIZIANO FERRO? He's very famous now and he's another singer I really like, he made a duet with Laura Pausini for the song NON ME LO SO SPIEGARE.
Here's the link, I hope you like it!

Ciao Cinzia,
I hope you are well.
grazie per aver postato quel link.
What a velvety, sexy voice Tiziano Ferro has. :o
I really enjoyed the video.

I also like that the youtube page is in Italian. It helps me learn by seeing the language in action on the familiar Youtube format.
Grazie Cinzia,
SJ

You are more than welcome Sonja!
I am glad you love Tiziano's voice! He's amazing and yes... he's got a sexy voice!

One of his songs (SERE NERE) was in the soundtrack of a famous Italian movie: TRE METRI SOPRA IL CIELO, inspired by the novel by Federico Moccia.
The movie is set in Rome and it is considered one of the most successful movies of our times, telling about a love story between a high school girl and her rebel boyfriend!

here there's a new link!

PS
The main character is Riccardo Scamarcio, the new Italian sex symbol

Ciao!

va bene, even though this seems to be a "ragazze" post, I will offer up some of the Italian music on my playlist:
Paola & Chiara (musically predictable, but visually stunning)
Laura Pausini (apparently one of the best known Italian female vocalists?)
Melania Rosati (indie singer, found on CD Baby)
Elio e le Storie Tese (heard on Serie A TV highlights)
Veronica Ventavoli (another indie, also on CD Baby)
plus various bossa & chill-out lounge type songs from Italian-named bands who may or may not actually be Italian, e.g., "cafe roma" by watermusic
any other suggestions?

well... if boys and girls like PAOLA e CHIARA... I'd rather say this is not a post for "ragazze" only!!!
