Peter: Buongiorno.
Peter: Benissimo.
Peter: Ottimo. Grazie e arrivederci.
Impiegata: Arrivederci.

Clerk: Good morning!
Peter: Good morning. I'd like to get some information about opening an account at your bank. What documents are necessary to open an account?
Clerk: Please have a seat. So, here is our brochure with the most important information. To open an account, you need an id card or your passport, the social security number, and your visa and then you need to fill out this document.
Peter: Okay. I've heard that in Italy a bank account is not free. How much does it cost to have a bank account?
Clerk: It depends on the number of operations you do every month. Usually, it costs twenty euros a month.
Peter: Can I access my account online and transfer money to pay my rent and bills?
Clerk: Sure. You only need to sign up on our website.
Peter: I have one more question—is there a minimum deposit needed?
Clerk: Yes, but one hundred euros is enough as a deposit.
Peter: Good. Well, I'll come back tomorrow with all the necessary documents. Do I need to call to set up an appointment?
Clerk: No, just come here between nine-thirty a.m. and three p.m.
Peter: Great. Thank you. See you tomorrow.
Clerk: Good-bye.

Giulia: Ciao Maria. Hai una faccia! Com’è andato l’appuntamento ieri sera?
Maria: Lasciamo perdere! E’ stato un disastro!
Giulia: Mi dispiace. Lorenzo sembrava simpatico. Forse non è il tuo tipo.
Maria: E’ proprio un cafone! Anzitutto è arrivato ben venti minuti in ritardo all’appuntamento.
Giulia: Ma come!?
Maria: La pizza era poco guarnita e quasi fredda.
Giulia: No! Non ci posso credere!

----Formal English----

Giulia: Hi, Maria! You look upset! How did the date go?
Maria: Forget it! It was a disaster!
Giulia: I'm sorry to hear that. Lorenzo seemed nice. Maybe he's not your type though.
Maria: He had such boorish behavior. First of all, he arrived twenty minutes late for the date.
Giulia: Really?
Maria: He had to go see a client at the last minute, so he arrived late. I understand that this can happen. But then instead of taking me to a nice restaurant to make up for it, he took me to a small, cheap restaurant.
Giulia: So, how was the food?
Maria: The pizza had few toppings, and it was cold. Besides, when they brought the ice cream, it was melted. And in the glass there was a fly. I had to ask the waiter to change it.
Giulia: Lorenzo is not good at choosing restaurants!
Maria: That's not all! Lorenzo had to answer three phone calls for work. I practically ate by myself. And then he talked about his work the rest of time. And when the bill arrived, he left to make a call again and I had to pay!
Giulia: No! I can't believe it!

Dante a Verona
Lo primo tuo refugio e 'l primo ostello
sarà la cortesia del gran Lombardo
che 'n su la scala porta il santo uccello;
ch'in te avrà sí benigno riguardo

Dante in Verona

First refuge and first place of rest for you
Shall be in the great Lombard’s courtesy,
Who bears the sacred bird perched on the ladder
And who shall hold you in such kind regard
That between you, in contrast with the others,
The granting will be first and asking last.

Paradise, XVII, vv. 70-75

These are the words that Dante makes his noble ancestor Cacciaguida utter, in the sky of Mars, or Spirits fighting for the faith. The Great Lombard is probably Cangrande (or perhaps Bartolomeo). The ladder is the blazon of the Scaligeri that can still be seen nowadays on the city monuments, these are adorned with eagle wings, the symbol of the lord of Verona imperial vicariate. Dante the refugee resided in the liberal, ghibelline Verona from 1312 to 1318.

However, he had been already hosted by the Scaligeri under the seigniory of Bartolomeo during the early 1300. It is during this period that some believe that the tragic story of Romeo and Juliet took place. Many people want to interpret the famous tercet of Dante, who was in Verona exactly during those years, as an indisputable proof that the legend has a lot more than a kernel of truth. Others want to even believe that the description of the dreadful (entrance) gate of the Inferno had been inspired to Dante by the expressive gates of San Zeno church, and that even the concentric circles structure of the Inferno could have been taken from the Arena, the roman amphitheatre of Verona.

Dante was in Verona again in 1312, during the reign of Cangrande, in whom the supreme poet saw perhaps the ideal lord, whose military strength and political skill could have pacified the whole of Italy. During his six-year stay in Verona, Dante worked with alacrity on the Divine Comedy, probably in the halls of the Bibliot [...]</itunes:summary>

The Maremma Valley spreads from the south of Tuscany to Latium and overlooks the Tyrrhenian Sea. In Maremma, there are a lot of prehistoric, Etruscan, and Roman remains that are part of an important historical and artistic heritage. From Principina a Mare until Telamone, we can find different natural environments. The very thick vegetation is commonly referred to as the Mediterranean bush.

In Maremma, it is possible to hike across hills and mountains following different routes, from which it is possible to enjoy breathtaking views of the Tuscan islands, Corsica, and the Ombrone River\'s dark waters. Uccellina Park is highly recommended; the path requires four or five hours of hiking. During the hike, you will find live oaks, oaks, brooms, thyme, rockrose marine, and rosemary. Do not be alarmed if you bump into wild boars, because there are many, as well as deer, roe deer, hedgehogs, badgers, and foxes.

The Maremma Valley is a perfect place for those who love hiking in the mountains but also for lovers of the sea. From the hills, you can go down to the pine forests and take a picnic; if you pass through the forest, you will face the cold and blue water of the Tyrrhenian Sea, which offers miles of public beaches. Italians in this area go on holiday in apartments, but they especially like to camp! Throughout the area, there are also several farm holidays where you can eat typical local cuisine, offering dishes with fresh fish and also game, such as hare, roe deer, and wild boar. Not to be missed are the pappardelle with wild boar! In short, this area has no need to envy the Chianti and Siena areas. Even so, the number of tourists is undoubtedly lower. The summer period is obviously the best, so if you are tired of the city, why don\'t you try visiting here?
