There has been a recent craze sweeping through southern Italy. Young children are abandoning video games, comic books and MySpace.com pages, taking to the streets, and dancing. Don’t be surprised, if during your trip to southern Italy, you come across large gangs of menacing youths dancing the pizziche, tarantelle, or tammiorate. You might even join in.

In today’s Advanced Audio Blog we’ll be learning some of the traditional dances from southern Italy. We’ll find out their origins, and some of the areas in which they are performed. This lesson is completely in Italian, so for the English transcript, come to ItalianPod101.com . Here you’ll also find review questions online, the accompanying pdf and easier Italian learning material. Be sure to leave us a post!
