As I was saying, I’m so glad to finally be in Italy…) “I’m sorry, how do you spell that? Is it J-O?” (There’s an E on the end. So as I was saying, I’m so happy to finally be in Italy…) “That’s a very peculiar name, Yo“. (It’s “Joe” actually…) “You know, it might be easier if we just call you Giuseppe.” (Um… Giuseppe?) “Yes, ‘Joe’ is just such a peculiar name to us Italians, no one is going to remember it, so it might be easier if you just introduce yourself as ‘Giuseppe’.” (Um… well, if…) “Just a suggestion. Either everyone’s going to get the pronunciation wrong, or they’re just not going to remember. Going by ‘Giuseppe’ would just make things a lot easier.”
