You felt sorry for her, but there was nothing you can do, so you told the bartender in Italian, “Buy her a glass of chianti on me.” About twenty minutes later, her ex-boyfriend comes back…this time alone! You start to panic as he makes a beeline for the girl at the bar, but you decide to wait and see how things play out. You move closer and overhear him say in Italian, “Hey…saw you earlier, but I couldn’t come talk to you because I was with my cousin. Are you going to be here a while?” When he heads to the restroom, you walk up to her and tell her in Italian, “See! You were assuming incorrectly all along. Do you feel better now?”
