Level: Newbie Lessons
Learn Italian with ItalianPod101.com! As you and your friends enjoy some adult beverages on a Friday night, you brag to your friend in Italian, “I’m running in a race tomorrow.” Your friend looks at you incredulously and asks in Italian, “You are?” You respond in Italian, “Yes…why would I joke around about that? It’s a ten-kilometer race.” Your friend shakes his head and says, “Well, athletes like Fausto Coppi don’t drink when they’re training. And I know that when I ran that distance, I surely wasn’t out celebrating with a few cold ones the night before. I was at home eating pasta and getting some rest.” You laugh and tell your friend in Italian, “This is rest,” and as you raise your frosty glass, you continue in Italian, “And these are carbs!” Your friend laughs along with you and says to you in Italian, “Good luck to you tomorrow. Maybe you should have another drink…one for each mile you’re running!”
