We don’t want to offend all those honest card players that hang around Italian flea markets, but let’s just say that if someone asks you to “pick a card, any card” in a game of chance, you’re probably going to lose. Like we said, we don’t like to make sweeping statements about an entire profession of people, but most gaming dealers who work off wooden crates in public parks are fraudsters. In the long and rich history of Italy there might have been some honest card sharks at some time, but we’ve never met any. In this Italian lesson, we continue to learn about the history and culture of Italy through Audio Blogs. Fabio will be teaching us about the Porta Portese flea market.
