There are many reasons for studying Italian. Maybe your interested in your Italian ancestry, making Italian friends or marrying into an Italian family. But if you want to impress someone, and don’t mind telling a white lie, try doing some name dropping: “I have always been fascinated with Eugenio Montale’s poetry and Italo Calvino’s novels. And they’re much better in the original language.” You’ll be guaranteed to impress literary Italians. In today’s lesson, we will be analyzing the passato prossimo tense of the second conjugation regular verbs. Please note that the explanation regarding the correct choice of auxiliary verbs presented in lesson 23 fully applies to all three conjugations, including the second one.
