I enjoyed the last few lessons, as they were altogether more like “real” language lessons !
The french equivalent to the first proverb is ” to want butter, and the money to buy butter”. There’s also a less polite version also involving the milk maid…

These proverbs are especially great. Nothing “anchors” idiomatic usage in the ear more than memorized proverbs, poems, sayings, etc.

I really don t no much about italian but can guess with the Sapnish I know and the French I have since I was 0 years old!
