Level: Beginner Lessons
Don’t ask questions that you don’t want the answers to! You have been dating a nice Italian girl for about three months, but lately, she seems to be avoiding you. You really like her a lot and you thought everything was fine. No matter what you do though, you can’t seem to get her on the phone or on Skype, she’s never home, and she’s not returning your emails! So, you ask your best friend who lives down the street from her in Italy for some advice. Your Italian friend is determined to help you get to the bottom of this so that you can be happy again! Thinking that maybe you are growing apart, the first thing he asks you in Italian is, “how often do you see each other?” In Italian, you reply that you see her “about once a day.” Then he asks in Italian, “how often do you compliment her?” You reply in Italian that you compliment her “at least twice a day!” Finally, he asks in Italian, “how often do you call her?” You reply in Italian, “at least ten times a day!” You really don’t know why she’s avoiding you?
