Wellcome! Do not get discouraged if Italian may seem a little more difficult compared to Spanish. I am sure that sometimes you get confused by some words and usages between the two languages that if initially seem similar, in the end are very far apart. My advice is have fun, especially with 3 kids around you! Try playing with them by using Italian words, I am sure they will be very curious about what you are doing. A presto Marco Dear Rebecca,

I'm excited to learn Italian. I thought it would be a lot like Spanish, but I'm finding it's a bit more difficult. Spanish was very easy to learn. I don't think I have any Italian in me, but I believe the customs and fashion are both very comforting and romantic. I would love to go visit one day. Anyway, I'm hoping someone knows that best way to study. Listen over and over again? ha! Write it down? I have 3 kids and very little concentration time. I've hooked up with some friends who might be studying with me over Skype so hopefully we can get something going. Ciao, Rebecca Ciao - ha my first word except I’ve been saying that one for awhile.

In the couple of generations my family stopped speaking Italian. My grandmother only remembers her father speaking it when he was upset so she doesn't know much. I really love the lessons and have listened to them all so far and hope to pass on the language and cultural history to my children. We are certainly going to offer more speakers, but don't want to use up our best assets now. That is why I am the host. Luckily I am balanced by Cinzia. hehe We shall have tons of everyday phrases available in a few months, so please keep listening! "conoscerLa" should be with a capital L, but you can also find it without it especially in handwriting. I am sure you will be able to pick up a lot using your French and Spanish skills, just watch out for the "false friends". Arrivederci Dear ladykuroda,

Piacere di conoscerLa. Mi chiamo Katie. :) (Does the La have to be capitalized?) So far, so good, you guys! Molto bene! :) I picked up a little Italian after studying on my own in 2006 (the Winter Games in Torino really piqued my interest), and it's nice to see an ItalianPod that works like JapanesePod does! I also wanted to say... perhaps take a leaf out of their book too... have multiple speakers! It's nice to hear the different people over at JPod, and it would be nice to hear others here at IPod (when you can manage), too! Otherwise.... it sounds kind of "set up" or "one sided"..... um, scripted, you know? But you guys have great pizzaz, so you'll be wonderful hosts! Hmmm... I suppose for myself, I'm looking for "everyday" Italian, as in vocab and phrases I'll use every day. Eventually, I'd like to get into the grammatical nitty gritty, verb conjugations and the like. (I had began a some in my previous study.) Oh! I just had a thought: pick Torino as one of your cities! I'm gonna' steal Cinzia's line: A prestissimo! P.S. I teach French and took some Spanish courses while in University, so Italian looks a lot like Spanish mixed with French to me! But I can usually pick out a lot of content from reading because of my French. ^_^ Chiao Cinzia e Marco!
